What is an Awning? An Awning is either screen mesh or fabric and a support frame used to extend your living space by providing protection from the sun and/or rain. -
What are Common Awning installations? Fixed Awnings and Retractable Awnings are commonly installed to provide protection over doors, windows, balconies, decks, gazebos, porches, wood trellis covers, and patios. -
What Awning Styles are available? Awnings are available as Fixed Awnings or Retractable Awnings. The most common applications are listed below. Refer to our Features section for further details.

What Awning Valance Styles are available? Awning Valances are available for Fixed Awnings and Retractable Awnings. Fixed Awnings are available with loose or fixed valances, and Retractable Awnings come with loose valances. Valances are optional.

What is a Manual Crank? A Manual Retractable Awning and Manual Retractable Window Awning come standard with a Manual Crank, which is used to operate the Awning’s projection. The crank is turned counter-clockwise to extend the Awning and clockwise to retract the Awning. -
What Frame Colors are available? Fixed Awning Frames are available in any custom powder coated Tiger Drylac RAL color. Retractable Awning Frames are available in 3 standard frame colors: White, Beige, and Bronze.

What are the Screen Mesh Options? Awnings are available with fade-resistant Sunbrella Fabric. Sunbrella color pigments are added during the production of the fiber, which results in Sunbrella yarn and fabric with color throughout that won’t wash away.

What is a Screen Mesh Seam or Fabric Seam? A Seam in the Screen Mesh or Fabric is necessary when you reach a certain width or height for an opening in which an Awning is to be installed. The seam joins two pieces of Screen Mesh or Fabric together to accommodate certain widths and heights. Whether or not a seam is required varies depending on the Awning. -
What are Roof Brackets? Roof Brackets are required to provide a smooth and stable mounting surface for a Retractable Awning mounted on a roof. -
Can I order an Awning with Custom Printed Text? Yes. We can add Custom Printed Text to almost any Awning, most commonly on the valance. Certain restrictions do apply. Contact our office for details. -
What is a Somfy? (Motorization Feature) Somfy is the world’s leading manufacturer of specialized motors and control systems. -
What are the Somfy Motor Specifications? (Motorization Feature) The AC Motor Specifications are: 120VAC/60Hz, 2 to 3 Amps. FCC Approved and UL Listed. Home Automation Interface is available. -
What are the Somfy Remote Control Options? (Motorization Feature) A one-channel wireless Somfy Remote Control (hand-held or wall switch) can operate one Motorized Awning. A multi-channel wireless Remote Control (hand-held or wall switch) can operate up to five separate Motorized Awnings independently. A hard-wired version of the wireless wall switch is available as well upon request. -
What is the Lead Time for an Awning? Awnings have a standard lead time of 3-4 weeks depending on the style. -
