The Official Retractable Screen Door of Southern California known as the StowAway Retractable Screen Door is your modern alternative to a traditional swinging or sliding screen. Consisting of a housing, pull bar, tracks, sill adapter, mold, and handles, a Retractable Screen Door is attached to the exterior or interior of a door or window frame. When not in use, the screen retracts into its protective housing canister. A spring installed in every Retractable Screen Door allows the screen to retract on its own when released from the magnet. The rate at which the screen accelerates back into the housing canister is controlled by either a Fast Close pin or Slow Close Hydraulic Speed Reducer.

Nylon end caps wrap around the top and bottom tracks of the pull bar for a smooth operation. Tracks allow the pull bar to freely slide back and forth within the opening. In order for the screen to be able to retract, it is not attached at the top or bottom of the opening. The screen mesh on a retractable screen system is made to sit within the top and bottom track to ensure superior protection. Sill adapters and moldings help create the perfect frame for your Retractable Screen. While in use, the pull bar is held in place by a magnet installed on the side opposite the housing.

StowAway Retractable Screen Doors are custom built to fit any opening and can accommodate heights up to 108” tall. A Single Door Retractable Screen can accommodate widths between 0”-72”. A Double Door Retractable Screen can accommodate widths between 0”-144”.

As an Upgraded Feature, we offer 3 Anodized Colors: Black Anodized, Clear Anodized, and Gold Anodized. The nylon end caps and magnets must be selected from one of the 12 standard nylon colors.

As an Upgraded Feature, we offer 3 Wood Veneer Colors: Mahogany, Oak, and Pine. Wood Veneer can be painted or stained any color you desire. The nylon end caps, handles, magnets must be selected from one of the 12 standard nylon colors.

StowAway Retractable Screen Doors are available in Tiger Drylac custom powder coated colors. You can select your aluminum housing, pull bar, tracks, sill adapter, mold, and handles from one of the custom colors to compliment your home. Screen Mesh Options

StowAway Retractable Screen Doors come standard with a stiffened Black or Grey Fiberglass Mesh. Stiffened is just a fancy name meaning it’s baked longer and provides a screen tougher than your typical window screen mesh. A single StowAway Retractable Screen with Black or Grey Fiberglass Mesh can accommodate widths up to 72”. Additional Screen Mesh options include Solar No-see-um, Solar Medium, Solar Maximum, and Polyester Pet. Black Solar No-see-um Mesh is more densely woven and protects against tiny gnats, sand flies, and other small invasive insects. Black Solar Medium Mesh and Black Solar Maximum Mesh are both long lasting solar screen material, allow limited airflow, and are typically only used for sun control. Black Solar Medium Mesh blocks about 80% of the sun’s harmful UV Rays, and Black Solar Maximum Mesh blocks about 90% of the sun’s harmful UV Rays. Black Polyester Pet Mesh is long-lasting weather and pet resistant material. Pet Mesh is three times stronger than basic fiberglass window mesh and does not become brittle or tear. A single StowAway Retractable Screen with Black Solar No-see-um, Black Solar Medium, Black Solar Maximum, or Black Polyester Pet can accommodate widths up to 56”.

Our Stowaway Retractable Screen Doors come standard with a sill adapter, which will aesthetically complete a Retractable Screen Door installation and prevent potential damage to the bottom track. The sill adapter provides a seamless blending of the new screen to your existing threshold and frame. In many installations, the sill adapter is a necessary component for proper screen operation and support.
